He is best known for two biographies, ''Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery'' about William Wilberforce and ''Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy'' about Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He has also written humor, children's books, and scripts for ''VeggieTales''.
